Responsibilities

• Assist the Optometrist by pre-screening patients and administering diagnostic tests
• Inform patients about insurance coverage and benefits
• Educate patients around proper contact lens use and care
• Accurately document exam and procedure details into the electronic system
• List all appropriate diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the Optometrist
• Monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating with the patients
• Sanitize, organize and clean the exam rooms and office after each patient
• Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation, punctual and dependable
• Friendly and upbeat with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Thrives in a busy environment
• Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to do basic math
• Team player with good interpersonal and listening skills

• Must be flexible to accommodate schedule change(s) on short notice to fulfill business needs and have availability to work Saturdays
• Previous experience as an optometric technician is preferred, but not required
• Previous experience with electronic medical records preferred, but not required
• 1+ years' experience in optical/optometry industry preferred, but not required
